Host Data IO Profile Reports

  • Output Reports based on iostat data only
  • Controller/HBA View
Show the data for all Controllers as marked in c0, c1, c2…. Devices in the beginning, no matter what the throughput is for these devices. This will show the bandwidth and the throughput for each of the controllers on the server.
  • Top 10 Highest Throughput Devices
Show the data for all devices that have the highest throughput (Read IO/sec + Write IO/sec). This will be the highest peak samples.
  • Top 10 Highest Bandwidth Devices
Show the data for all devices that have the highest throughput (Read Kbytes/sec + Writes Kbytes/sec). This will be the highest peak samples.
  • Top 10 Most Busy Devices
Show the data for the most busy devices on the system.
  • Top 10 Highest Service Time
Show the data for the highest service time devices. (wait service time + active service time)
  • Top 10 Highest Queued IO Devices
Show the data for the devices that have the highest queued IO (wait queue + active queue)
  • Top 10 %Write Devices
Show the data for the Top 10 most write active devices.
  • Top 10 %Read Devices
Show the data for the Top 10 most read active devices.
  • Aggregated Bandwidth and Throughput - All Devices
Show the aggregated bandwidth and throughput for all the devices. Since each named device has more than 1 path, this report will aggregate the IOPS and the KB/sec to show the real IO performed by the device. This report can then be used to compare against a baseline data.
What you gain out of it ?
  • A detailed view of overall Storage Array loads across the components
  • Percentage of reads and writes across the components
  • Remote SRDF traffic load
  • Being able to identify bottlenecks in a 24 hour period.
  • Make intelligent decisions for better layout of existing and new hosts and applications
  • Make intelligent decisions for storage array growth planning
